The Pigeon River starts in North Carolina flowing 70 miles through farmland and remote towns before it runs into the upper French Broad above Douglas Lake in Tennessee. The Pigeon River is most well known for its whitewater rafting but is an excellent Smallmouth Bass fishery. We only float this river due to access as well as heavy generation (for rafting) at times offering little to no wading opportunities. Being a tailwater this also allows us to fish through the summer and fall months prolonging our smallmouth season like many of our other smallmouth rivers.
