You know, as a kid I would love winter time because of the snow. I loved to sled and prayed that school would be out, which as long as they were calling for snow or a lot of rain for that matter the schools will be around here. Something about snow days was different. Now I really don’t mind it because I know the fish can be caught, but all I can think about is Spring fishing. Dry flies, streamers and poppers, so after a while it starts to get to me.
The other day when Phil the groundhog didn’t see his shadow everybody was talking about it like they actually believe that he would tell us if spring would be early. I try to focus on nature. When the deer are done rutting we know we have about a month and a half, when squirells start gathering stuff for nest we have roughly a month. Or even when the Rainbow’s are moving up to spawn (which we have seen some doing) we know we are close. Here are some photos that we took of a warm day fishing last week with some nice bows.
But wouldn’t you know it, the snow showed up again. We have been stocking up on flies for the past 2 months and I want to throw them badly. Oh well, we never know what God has in store for us. But we might as well make the best of it. Back to the vise I guess. I am sure that spring in all reality is close, so I suggest that you stock up on flies too. Here are some more shots of flies we have been putting out.
